Hurumanu- Water cycle

How a water cycle works
For science this term we are learning about fossil fuels and climate change. We are doing this experiment where we are seeing what happens when you inclose water in a Ziplock bag and leave it in the sun. The steps and methods below explain what I think is going to happen and what we did.

Title

How a water cycle works

Purpose

To find out how the water cycle works

Materials

-Large ziplock bag x 2
-Black vivid x1
- 1 cup of water
- Blue food dye
- Baking soda
-Litmus paper
-Double-sided tape

Steps

(Experiment 1)

  1. Grab the large Ziploc bag
  2. Draw the water cycle on the large Ziploc bag (in vivid)
  3. Show Mr palmer the drawing.
  4. Mr palmer adds 1 cup of water into the large Ziploc bag
  5. Then he adds 2 drops of blue food dye
  6. And then you stick it on the window where the most sun gets through and wait

(Experiment 2)

  1. Repeat step 1 and 2 of the first experiment.
  2. Show Mr palmer your drawing on the ziplock bag
  3. Mr palmer will then add 1 cup of water into the Ziploc bag
  4. Then he will add 2 drops of blue dye
  5. And then 1 tsp of baking soda
  6. Stick your double-sided tape on and then stick it on the window and wait.

Conclusion

Experiment 1

I think the outcome of this experiment will be...
Not so drastic as the 2nd experiment I think the water will either evaporate or collect water.
What actually happened
Experiment 2
I think the outcome of this experiment will be more interesting and have a lot more outcomes than the first mainly because it has baking soda and is enclosed in a Ziploc bag, therefore, creating more carbon dioxide then experiment 1  and carbon dioxide is a fossil fuel.

Nirvana the band

Nirvana the band
If you like nirvana or are interested in learning more about nirvana this is the post for you. Nirvana has to be one of my favourite bands and Kurt Cobain the lead singer has a very interesting back story, No I actually do not like "smells like teen spirit" 😤😂 I actually like "Mr moustache" more and my favourite album is "Bleach".

Mr Scott had us make a D.L.O on something we find interesting in this case nirvana was my first pick so here is the final product.

Hurumanu -Climate change issues

Climate change issues

Factories-
Factories pollute the air through fossil fuel emissions.
These emissions include carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide and run constantly.

Cows-
A cow does on overage release between
70 and 120 kg of Methane per year (CO2) Just by farting and burping.

Transportation-
most cars need gas or diesel to work,
These come from oil which is a fossil fuel

Electricity-
Electrictricity is a form of energy used to power homes and other things,
electricity can come from non-renewable
and renewable sources such as (fossil fuels) Oil, and gas.

Food-
Transporting food by plane, ships and trains causes a lot
of pollution but of course, we need food to survive and also farming
causes greenhouse gases.

Landfill-

When waste breaks down in landfills it makes greenhouse gases,
methane and carbon dioxide.
