Health hurumanu/ Online vs Real life relationships

Health hurumanu/ Online vs Real life relationships
For hurumanu today we were given the statement "Online relationships are not as important as real-life relationships" we then have to debate this statement and try present both sides of the argument.

Some people might think that online relationships are not as important as platonic and romantic real life relationships, I think this argument is true why? imagine having a friend or romantic partner on the other side of the world and their time zone is different from yours, so when its day time for you its midnight for them when its daytime for them its midnight for so you get my point? this could effect your sleeping pattern and or just ruin the relationship due to communicating and not talking then you would probably ghost each other and never talk again like ever.

I feel that online relationships can be very unreliable and people sometimes are just very untruthful about things like cat fishing (Luring someone into a relationship by means of a fictional online persona) some people even use cat fishing to get money off of people by making up a story on why they need it.

Another point of view on this argument, I must say there isn't always bad people out their the internet can be a awesome place to meet awesome people but you just have to be careful and watch for dodgy signs.

My opinion is that real life relationships are better then online ones! why? I mean its quite obvious right? that you can actually see the person and spend time with them, and you know that they aren't lying about their appearance because they're right in front of you. I feel that having a friend or partner in real life will help your relationship grow and become stronger because you can have physical contact and online contact, and you aren't going out of your way to stay up until 5 am to just have a conversation with them.

On the other hand people may think that real life relationships aren't for them some people with anxiety are more comfortable with talking to people behind a screen then in person, or maybe they just haven't found the right group of friends or friend in person and their soulmate happens to live across the world, so HEY! what can you do right? it is what it is.

In conclusion I don't mind online relationships and I definitely think they are good for people that have trouble making friends and talking to people in person and I don't have a problem with that at all, but I definitely do prefer real life relationships because of my argument above.
